From long to short

Hello everybody!!! I once again went M.I.A for a while!!! But... I'm back!!

Yesterday I cut a friend's hair. Her name is Kate, she had amazingly beautiful long VIRGIN hair!!!!! Which we all know is very hard to find these days haha!!

Kate's long hair

Since Kate had gorgeous virgin hair, the best thing to do before we could cut it was to braid it. For all you wondering... YES!! She's donating it to locks of love!!!!

Kate came to me and said she wanted a drastic change, so we went REALLY short! I was nervous about it at first because I really wanted her to like it and feel comfortable about it!! So I played it safe and left it a little longer... but brave Kate said she wanted it even shorter!!! So long story short (just like her hair). Here's the final look:

Doesn't she look amazing??

Have you gone from long to short before? I would love to see pictures!! Let me know what you think!

A-Line Bob

One of my favorite cuts to do is the a-line bob. It's a very common cut, but the one time that really stands out to me is when I cut my niece Nicole's hair. I was so excited but sad at the same time! She had beautiful, long, thick, silky hair! The good news is she donated her hair to Locks of Love! ... that's what gave me comfort while I cut it!

Here's her beautiful hair before:
That's Nikki on the right

She's beautiful with long and short hair! Im glad she liked it and I hope you all do too!

Happy Nikki with her new "do".

Feeling the blues

Hello everyone. I have changed my hair once again! I was getting very bored of what I had. Don't get me wrong, I love having lighter hair... but somehow I always go back to my roots... DARK! My inspiration was the beautiful Jeannie Mai from How Do I Look . I didn't want as much as hers, but something similar.

So I decided to to go darker. I was at a level 6 (light brown) with blondish highlights. and now I am at a level 3 (dark medium brown) with BLUE highlights. I know.. a little daring but, I was feeling spontaneous!
I had a good friend of mine help me out and she did an AMAZING job!

The products used were:

  • Paul Mitchell dual-purpose lightener
  • 20 volume developer
  • long foils

  • Wella Koleston (level 3N)
  • 20 volume developer
  • Paul Mitchell Blue Color Shots

  • CHI chromashine (rich blue)

What was done, in short, was :

  1. Lightened strands of my hair with the Paul Mitchell dual-purpose lightener.
  2. Applied the color.
  3. We mixed 3N with the blue color shots and the 20 vol. developer.
  4. Washed everything out.
  5. Dryed hair.
  6. Applied the CHI chroma shine in rich blue!!!

I didn't want too much blue in there but still enough to be noticeable. I hope you guys like. Let me know what you think!!
